Is this transparency and accountability?

Vancouver School Board trustees decided to sell the land under Lord Roberts annex elementary school to BC Hydro for 48 million dollars, some 40 million dollars less than BC Hydro was ready to pay a neighbour. 40 million dollars is a lot of money. It buys a secondary school. Missing out on such a windfall seema a bad idea. Doing it in secret seems to even worse. Luckily there’s an election coming.

It’s the perfect chance to elect an independent school trustee.

On Orange Shirt Day lets remember the residential schools and the harm they caused.

Orange Shirt Day is a legacy of the St. Joseph Mission (SJM) residential school commemoration event held in Williams Lake, BC, Canada, in the spring of 2013. It grew out of Phyllis Webstad’s story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the Mission, and it has become an opportunity to keep the discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually.
